Press ReleasesPresident took part in the opening ceremony of the Lithuanian-Polish House in Toruń
Addressing to the President of the town of Toruń, members of the Municipal Council, townspeople and visitors, President Adamkus noted that this evening brought together representatives of glorious nations with a rich historical past.
"The 440 years since the Lublin Union was an interesting yet difficult and even cruel period. We now face new tasks in a new Europe in which we, as the states caring for the future, have to assume shared responsibility. I strongly believe the Lithuanian-Polish House will contribute to the development and strengthening of our bilateral relations," President Adamkus said.
Late in the evening, the President had a meeting with the academic community of Toruń in Toruń University, where a book about his presidency published in the Polish language was presented.
President Adamkus came back to Vilnius late at night. Press Service of the President |
