President presented letters of credence to Lithuania’s Ambassador to Hungary

Friday, June 5, Vilnius - President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus presented letters of credence to Renatas Juška nominated as Lithuania's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Hungary.

The President thanked Rentas Juška for active and professional engagement in promoting democracy in Belarus and Georgia and in implementing projects in Afghanistan.

President Adamkus wished the Ambassador every success in his new role in Hungary, in strengthening political, economic and cultural relations between Lithuania and Hungary.

President Adamkus said, "Lithuania's new ambassador to Hungary is a young, yet experienced diplomat."


Before this nomination, Mr. Juška served:
as the Third Secretary for the American Countries Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1955-1996;
as the Second Secretary for the CIS Countries Division in 1996-1997;
as the First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Lithuania to the International Organisations in Vienna in 1997-2000;
as an Adviser to Lithuania's Embassy in Belarus in 2000-2003;
as an Adviser to the Foreign Policy Analysis and Planning Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2003-2006;
as the Director of the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
