President Adamkus congratulates NATO's new secretary general

Saturday, April 4, Strasbourg - President Valdas Adamkus extended congratulations to Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen nominated by NATO's leaders to become the new general secretary next August.

According to Valdas Adamkus, the Alliance headed by Mr. Rasmussen would successfully continue the process of expansion (Open Door Policy) and strengthen collective defense elements within the NATO space.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen will be the NATO's 12 secretary general.
