His Majesty King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain arrive in Lithuania on May 6 on a two-day state visit. The media who wish to highlight visits by the Royal Couple in Vilnius and Trakai should apply for accreditation on-line only at http://archyvas.lrp.lt/activity/akreditacija by 12:00 of 30 April 2009 at the latest. Requests for accreditation received after this date will not be processed. Below, for the attention of journalists accredited for the Spanish Royal visit to Lithuania, is the programme of the state visit with venues and timing of the scheduled events, access to which will be subject to having obtained accreditation cards. Moreover, you must notify us by e-mail spauda@president.lt which events the journalists representing your media plan to be present in. Also note that journalists who will work in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace will not be able to work on the Daukanto Square. There will be no access for the media from the Daukanto Square to the Blue Hall. Note that accreditation cards may be collected at the Press Service of the President, at S. Daukanto a. 3, Vilnius, on Tuesday, 5 May 2009, from 13:00 to 17:00, and on 6 May, before 12:00.

Continuing his state visit to Finland, President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus visited the Turku Castle and made a speech at a luncheon hosted by the Mayor of Turku Mr. Mikko Pukkinen.

On the second day of his state visit to Finland, President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus visited the construction site of the Olkiluoto Nuclear Power Plant. Having arrived there by a helicopter from Helsinki, the President met with the management of the plant and inspected how the construction works were going on.
